Following the national historic site of ancient Miki castle, historic streets, old merchant houses, temples and shrines, public outside washing places, a distinctive railroad bridge, and the industry of iron tools, all characterize the history and the culture of the city.\n However, the value and the richness of these elements are not recognized widely enough by the citizens and the visitors. Thus, promotion to increase awareness of the people to these heritages has been one of the important subjects of the city to bring forward the urban reorganization and the community building.\n With this understanding, we have organized and implemented annual events named \"Mikishiru\" (which means to know the city of MIKI) for the past 9 years. The main participants of the events have been children and their parents, the players of the society of next generation.
