 note = {本研究では、2011年11月にモントリオールで開催されたユネスコによる景観と環境デザインに関する国際ワークショップWAT_ Montrealへの参加を通して、その特徴や運営上の工夫について考察する。さらに各国からの参加教員へのヒアリングを通してWAT の意義を確認し、このような国際教育プログラムを構築し、国際都市間連携を進めていくためには、どのような事柄を重視すべきであるのかについて検討する。
WATは2003年以来ほぼ毎年開催されており、8回目にあたる今回のWAT_Montreal 2011は、周到な準備と巧みな運営のもとに優れた成果が生み出された。その成功要因としては、①地元の行政機関との連携、②過去の7回のWATの実施経験の活用、③インターネットによる事前の情報提供、等を挙げることができる。また、参加教員へのヒアリングからWAT開催の意義について考察した結果、ユネスコの目的でもある異文化交流の促進の他、外からの視点による都市の価値や課題の見直し、個人間および大学間のネットワークの充実と拡大、参加経験を生かした教育手法の改善、新たな国際教育研究プログラムの可能性、等が意識されていることがわかった。
今後もここで得られた知見を生かしつつ、国際的なネットワークをさらに充実させて、優れた教育プログラムの構築と国際的な都市間の連携をはかっていきたい。, This paper investigates the methods and characteristics of the WAT_Montreal: an international workshop on landscape and environmental design officially recognized by UNESCO, held in November 2011.
WAT has been held almost every year since 2003. The eighth edition in Montreal was effectively managed and three factors of success have been observed: 1) cooperation with local municipalities, 2) application of experiences from former WATs, and 3) provision of information on the internet. Through the interviews to the professors of the workshop, we also found that several points are recognized in common to be the significances of the WAT: promotion of cultural exchange, revision of the city's value and problems from outside view, extension of the network among the individuals and universities, improvement of the pedagogic methods utilizing the experiences, development of new international educational programs, etc.
We aim to develop new educational programs in the future, through application of the knowledge acquired in the WAT, and through extension of our networks among the cities in the world.},
