Analyses of topography, history, social statistics, urban morphology, and observations from field surveys are generally executed and combined to investigate the characteristics of the neighborhood. However, appropriate methods could be different depending on the site and purpose of the utilization of the result.\r\nIn this research, we investigate a residential area in Kobe city as a case study to find out the local features. The target area of the investigation had been developed in 1960s to provide new housing lots. The houses and apartments built in the period are decrepit today, and they need to be rebuilt or renovated.
